Bally has been working with metal in one sense or another since he was just 13 years old. Rumor even has it that he cut his teeth in metalworking by building himself throwing stars and brass knuckles.
By using recycled materials, Bally isn't only doing the environment a good turn, he's ensuring uniqueness in each piece of furniture. Bally leaves the source material's patina alone-and makes sure it's visible. Such individualism comes at a price, naturally; chairs start at $1,100 and tables range from $900 to $4500. The spy photographers are out again and they’ve caught a special Aston Martin Rapide testing at the Nurburgring. Initial rumors on this vehicle suggested it was a facelift version of the luxury sedan, but it seems the news is even better. The company is preparing an even more powerful version of the Rapide that will drop the current 470 HP 6.0 Liter V12 in favor of the engine used in the DBS. This means we will get 40 HP more with the new S version. With the new 510 HP, the Rapide S will sprint faster than the current model which does the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 5.1 seconds.Next to the engine improvement, the Rapide S will feature an even more aggressive front and rear fascia, a lower front bumper with an additional air intake and deep scoops, a more prominent boot lip spoiler and a reprofiled bumper.The new Aston Martin Rapide S will go on sale in late 2012 and will be priced at about �200,000 or about $325,000 at the current exchange rates. It was Sunday morning at the Ferrari Racing Days at Laguna Seca, and the Corse Clienti cars were out on track when corners workers began waving the black flag to bring all the drivers into the pits. Everyone came in, save for one of the three FXXs.
Moments later, we confirmed our fears: the driver had gone off track at the Corkscrew and stuffed the nose of the FXX into the tire wall.
We don't know exactly what went wrong, but fortunately, the damage to the car seemed fairly minor and not serious enough to have hurt the driver. For the most part, it looked like the car will just need new front bodywork, and we wouldn't be surprised if it was ready in time for its next scheduled outing next month in Montreal. Here's a matchup made in heaven. The crew from Motor Sport Magazine took the time to pit the BMW 1 Series M Coupe against a fitting rival - the Audi TT RS. The two German sports coupes go fender-to-fender on track, and thanks to a few well-placed video cameras, we get to ride along for the action. There's plenty of tail-wiggling glory from the smallest of the M family, but the TT RS seems more than capable of keeping the pace. With 340 horsepower to the 335 ponies of the TT RS, the 1 Series M Coupe has a slight power edge, but with all four wheels pulling in the Audi, the two are fit rivals.
While the video doesn't actually capture any legitimate competition, it's still fun to watch - and hear - these two pint-sized bruisers frolic around in a semi-controlled, off-street venue. We just wish it was us behind the wheel. Thirteen enter, six leave ... with Top Safety Pick awards. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety spent some time driving (and smashing) a big group of small cars. Six of those cars received top honors from the IIHS by scoring a rating of "Good" across the board. The 2012 Ford Focus, 2012 Honda Civic sedan, 2011 Hyunda Elantra, 2011 Lexus CT200h, 2011 Nissan Juke and 2011 Toyota Prius are all the small-car place to be in the event of an accident.
This crop of small cars are also quite fuel efficient. All vehicles in the top six offer a version that gets at least 40 miles per gallon on the highway.
The rest of the vehicles tested faired well. Only the older Suzuki SX4 and Dodge Caliber received "Mediocre" ratings in some categories. Every car tested, however, received multiple "Good" ratings. The facelifted Genesis four-door was unveiled at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show, and though it received a minor facelift and some other small interior changes, the big news for the 2012 model year is what's under the hood.
That $34,200 price point corresponds to the base Genesis 3.8 sedan, which now uses a direct-injected 3.8-liter V6, rated at 333 horsepower and 291 pound-feet of torque - gains of 43 and 27, respectively, versus the 2011 model. A new eight-speed automatic transmission is also on tap, meaning the Genesis 3.8 will achieve up to 29 miles per gallon on the highway.
Moving up in the range, the Genesis 4.6 - $44,500 - also gets an eight-speed automatic transmission, though its V8 engine remains largely unchanged. Power ratings carry over from 2011 - 385 hp and 333 lb-ft of torque.
The 4.6 used to be the range-topping Genesis, but for 2012, Hyundai has introduced the new 5.0 R-Spec model, which, as its name suggests, is fitted with the automaker's brand new 5.0-liter direct-injected V8. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, the Tau 5.0 is good for 429 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque, while still returning 16/25 mpg city/highway. The R-Spec model also features unique 19-inch wheels, sportier suspension tuning and more aggressive appearance updates. The top-shelf Genesis retails for $46,500.

YES, the major difference between emos and scenesters are their attitude. But I don't believe all 'scene kids' have an original personality, as you say 'dont follow the personality'. Yea, they dont follow the emo personality. But they still have one they mostly all have.. they think highly of themselves.Another difference is, emos are generally natured to black. Scene kids love colors. Rainbows, neon colors..anything and everything!(Although I see emos starting to like rainbows now..xD)Another thing is the 'obsessions'. Emos love, mostly Jack Skellington, and such things as that. While Scene kids are more into the look of say, Sanrio characters, like Hello Kitty. And also, Gloomy Bear is a big thing for them.While emos and scenes are close to each other, I think the difference is more than what it seems. It isnt just the personality, but the style too. The common thing shared among them is probably the hair. But scene hair is most definately BIGGER.xDYou should be able to tell the difference, on the spot, from an emo or a scene kid. Guys are harder to distinguish than girls most of the time. But see a guy with a lot of confidence and he seems like hed have a big mouth on him, wearing bright colors, and big sun glasses..I think its safe to assume hes 'scene'. While a guy wearing mostly black, quiet in the corner, walking slowly..well, thats emo. According to the wizards at Europe's CAR magazine, sources within BMW have confirmed that the high-performance X3 M could launch as early as 2012. A stupid-fast X3 hardly seems necessary, but then again, that's what we said about the larger X5 M and X6 M before falling in love after our stints behind the wheel.
CAR states that the X3 M will likely be powered by a tweaked version of the new six-cylinder engine bound for duty in the M3. In the X3, this engine will reportedly produce somewhere around 450 horsepower, and could use a brand new tri-turbo system - one electric turbocharger paired with two exhaust-gas-driven units.
A 450-horsepower X3? With three turbochargers (one of which is electric)? The BMW M5 that debuted at this year's Shanghai Motor Show may have technically been a concept car, but it comes as no surprise to see that the near-production models the German automaker is testing look exactly like the car we saw on stage. For what it's worth, we certainly hope the dark brown paint seen on this prototype will be offered when the M5 hits dealerships. Those blacked-out wheels can stay, too.
As you've no doubt read countless times before, the M5 will be offered with BMW's twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, packing somewhere north of 480 horsepower. In the United States, both a manual and dual-clutch transmission will be available, and all-wheel drive may be in the cards, as well.

Official: Spyker to be renamed Swedish Automobile N.V. as Pang Da talks with Chinese gov't.

Spyker is on a Chinese money hunt, and it appears the automaker may have found a partner willing to pony up the cash. Pang Da, a Chinese automobile distribution company, had recently entered into a memorandum of understanding with Spyker. Now, Spyker is set to rename itself Swedish Automobile N.V., and the Saab-owner believes Chinese authorities will give the green light for this deal to proceed.
According to Saab CEO Victor Muller, a very important portion of the deal has already gone through; a cash infusion of €30 million ($42M USD). Muller states that "Pang Da's advance payment and sales of imported Saab cars are not subject to approval from the NDRC. The first advance payment of EUR 30 million was received last Tuesday."
Bloomberg reports that the rest of the deal may not move forward so easily. According to analysts in China, the country's government is unlikely to allow Pang Da's purchase of a stake in Swedish Automobile N.V. because the nation is working to consolidate its auto industry, not expand it.
If approved, however, Pang Da will spend $91 million and receive a 23 percent share of the automaker's business.
